On Saturday the 30th of April, Penya Africa will organize a new round of auditions for its Sauti Academy artist development program.
Penya Africa’s talent development program reaches out to singers/rappers who would like to take their talent to the next level. The 1-year program includes weekly voice lessons, music theory, piano lessons as well as music business workshops. At the end of each term we organize a Sauti Academy showcase for you to present your progress to the world. After successful completion of the program, students get the chance to record a demo at the Penya studios.
The program will cost you Ksh 5000 per month, which we, as a non profit organisation, will use to sustain our programs. We have full scholarships available for talented vocalists who cannot afford the fees.
In the auditions you are expected to perform 1 or 2 songs either with a backing track or with an accompanist (guitarist/pianist/etc). You will also have a short interview about your motivation to join the program as well as a solfege test to assess your musicality.
Please note that Penya Africa exclusively scouts for new talent through the Sauti Academy program.
